SuPortNet Agro and SAAP:

SuPorNet:
The company SuPortNet,  “ Sustainable Port Net “, was established in 1999 on the basis of an EU Initiative Platform with aim to focus on sustainable development in the maritime tourism and recreation sector. More than 220 ports in Europe participated in the project. The results where overwhelming positive due to the huge network of determined and innovative participants in the project, a project with main issues such as:

·   Environment

·   Ecology

·   Life at land and in the sea.


Cooperation with leading European and NonEuropeanCenters of Science in Bio Energy, Environment and Ecology was crucial for the achievements and the excellent result. The network is continuing to cooperate in matters also today.

SuPorNet Agro and SAAP:
In 2007, and upon official request from Kaliningrad Regional Authorities,  a new platform was initiated based on the success of SuPortNet in its first EU based project and several other:
Such platform to include the newest agriculture farming experience from both Russia, European/ Non European countries. An agro advisory board was established in 2008 with name SAAP:  “ Sustainable Agro Advisory Platform “.

The ultimate goal is to expand and exchange knowledge of added values of sustainable agricultural development by affiliation with existing farmers in Europe and in Kaliningrad, Russia. To establish cross border cooperation on sustainable agriculture with aim:

 

1)  Increase the amount of ecological agricultural products  in Kaliningrad supermarkeds.
2)  Increase awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and ecology
3)  Proove to farmers /customers/ investors that sustainable farming is profitable and products has best taste, are more healthy and have best quality.
4)  Availability of healthy agricultural products for a growing population in the Kaliningrad region.
5)  If successful in Kaliningrad  - the project has potential to expand further into Russia.
6)  Increase profits of local farming by minimum 5 % by each first three years.
